Let’s first start with understanding what’s the Detoxification process in Ayurveda.

The principle objectives of Ayurveda include maintenance and promotion of health, prevention of disease and cure of sickness. Principally it comprises of 2 parts – cleansing therapy and pacifying therapy. When the toxins of the body causing diseases are in lesser quantity, pacifying medicines are given both internally and externally. Cleansing therapy which include the PANCHAKARMAS OF AYURVEDA are used when the toxins are in greater quantity, thus draining them out from the body through the natural orifices.Basically, detoxification means cleansing the blood. This is done by removing impurities from the blood in the liver, where toxins are processed for elimination. The body also eliminates toxins through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymphatic system, and skin during a body detox.

WHAT IS AYURVEDA ?

Let’s first start with comprehending what is Ayurveda and what is its root . Ayurveda is a natural and organic system of medicine, originated and raised in India for more than 5,000 years ago. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur-life and veda science or knowledge and that’s why Ayurveda is the knowledge and awareness of life. Depending on the reason or cause of disease , like an imbalance or stress in a person’s consciousness, Ayurveda encourages certain lifestyle changes, interventions and natural therapies to regain a balance between the body, mind, spirit, and the environment. According to ayurveda the whole universe is based on the five main principles or mahapanchbhutas , and those are Akasa ( space) ,Vayu ( Air), Agni ( Fire) , jala(water)and Prthivi ( Earth) and Sound, Touch, Vision, Taste, and Smell are their properties respectively .

Ayurvedic medicine is one of the world’s oldest holistic whole-body healing systems. It is based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit without having side or harmful effects when taken in adequate quantity or as prescribed.

Ayurveda treatment starts with an internal detoxification and purification process, followed by a special diet, herbal remedies, massage therapy, yoga, and meditation. The concepts of universal interconnectedness, the body’s constitution (prakriti), and life forces (doshas) are the primary basis of ayurvedic medicine. Goals of treatment aid the person by eliminating impurities, reducing symptoms, increasing resistance to disease, reducing worry, and increasing harmony in life. Herbs and other plants, including oils and common spices, are used extensively in Ayurvedic treatment.

Concluding that Ayurvedic medicine is to prevent and treat illness—rather than respond to indicators of disease—by maintaining balance and harmony between your body, mind and environment.
